Policies & standards
School policy is set by a board of directors and a principal administers the program. Parents are elected annually to the board.
Parents are encouraged to assist on committees. The committees plan and carry out activities which make our school a place for adults as well as children. The committees are responsible for adult education, shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, picnics, classroom enrichment activities, curriculum, graduation planning, class parents, telephone trees, mailings, and fund raising.
Parent participation teaches that the DJCS is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about community. As well, much of our administrative work is done through committees, keeping our costs low.
